About this event

The River Valley Boys & Girls Club STEM Exploration Day at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ at Marion is designed to provide youth with an engaging, hands-on introduction to science, engineering, and health-related fields through interactive learning experiences on a college campus. Intended for elementary and middle school-aged participants, the program aims to spark curiosity, build confidence in STEM subjects, and increase awareness of educational and career pathways available through higher education. Participants will rotate through a series of experiential activities led by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ faculty and staff.

Planned experiences include an environmental biology exploration at the Larry R. Yoder Prairie Learning Laboratory, where students will investigate local ecosystems and create nature-inspired leaf prints; an engineering design activity in which students construct and test simple DIY flashlights while learning about circuits and problem-solving; and a health sciences session focused on physical activity, exercise, and wellness through movement-based challenges. Additional activities may be incorporated based on faculty expertise and participant interests.
