ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ at Marion awarded the 2026 John T. Mount Academic Excellence Award to Majd Al-Marrawi, during the 55th Annual Academic Recognition Ceremony, Friday, April 24th in Morrill Hall Auditorium.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching, established during the 1959–60 academic year, is one of the university’s most prestigious teaching awards. Ten faculty members were recently notified of their 2026 awards through surprise announcements led by senior university leaders.

Jessica Sturgill, an academic advisor at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ at Marion, was recently awarded the Mary Bailey Award Academic Advising during a recent Academic Advising Association of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ (ACADOS) annual banquet in April.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Marion’s Dr. Ben McCorkle will bring five decades of literary history to downtown Marion on Tuesday, May 19 at 5:30 p.m., presenting A Literary Legacy: Cornfield Review at 50 at Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Marion has launched the Marion Futures Lab, a new community project supported by a $49,480 Community Engagement seed grant from the Global Arts + Humanities | Cross-Disciplinary Research Exchange and the Office of Engagement in the College of Arts and Science at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ.

Five Nights on Campus performing arts series is stepping it up and stepping out — literally and figuratively. On Thursday, May 14, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Marion transforms campus into a vibrant neighborhood festival for the final performance of the season, Who We Are Now: A Celebration of Marion, OH.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Marion will soon pop up downtown with the opening of its new Downtown Engagement Hub. The hub, 146 N. Main St., will have a soft opening in July and a ribbon cutting in August or September.

Katie is a third-year psychology student at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ at Marion. She returned to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Marion after transitioning to the Columbus campus, and we sat down with her to learn more about her unique journey.
