After the pencils were put down and the calculators were put away, local high school students were awarded $18,000 in scholarships to attend ������Ƶ at Marion and Marion Technical College.  105 students from six area schools (Elgin, Harding, Highland, North Union, Pleasant, and River Valley) came to the Marion campus to test their math prowess in the annual OSUM/MTC Marion Math Challenge. 

First Gen Friday is a monthly first-person narrative written by other first generation college students who are faculty, staff, and students at ������Ƶ Marion.

Commencement at ������Ƶ is a festive and joyous occasion at which family and guests are welcome to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class.

������Ƶ’s engineering technology program, available on the Mansfield, Marion, Newark and Lima campuses, is preparing students to excel as business-oriented engineering leaders in the rapidly expanding manufacturing industry. That industry is thirsty for employees (with estimates that nearly 4 million employees will be needed in the next 10 years) and engineering technologists in particular (it’s projected there will be a 13% growth in jobs in engineering technology by 2026).

As we approach the season of giving, ������Ƶ Marion sophomore electrical engineering major Ethan Kessler is thankful he chose to attend an ������Ƶ regional campus for a multitude of reasons. Primary among those is the ability to adjust to college by attending a smaller regional campus and the ability to focus on his education without the worry of debt thanks to being awarded the Wm. Kay Davis Excellence Scholarship.

Holiday decorations afford ������Ƶ Marion students, faculty and staff a welcoming, joyous atmosphere. Decorations bring a sense of community with the twinkling lights, festive garland, and holiday trees.

Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. was formally installed as the 17th president of ������Ƶ and used his address to call on the university community to develop a 10-year strategic plan named for the ������Ƶ motto of Education for Citizenship.

������Ƶ at Marion’s Five Nights on Campus performing arts series welcomes the British and American trio MidAtlantic Men to campus as part of the U.S. leg of their 2024 tour, Thursday, November 14, 7:30 p.m. in Morill Hall Auditorium.
