Students from ATI-Wooster, Marion, Mansfield, Newark, and Lima campuses came together in a virtually ceremony Sunday, October 18, 2 p.m. to crown a king and queen from each of the regional campuses, celebrating ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™s homecoming tradition.

Hannah M. Hylton, a senior biology pre-med major attending ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ at Marion, was one of a select group of students university-wide to receive a Pelotonia Undergraduate Fellowship Award through The James: ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Comprehensive Cancer Center, which provides research fellowships to the best and brightest ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ University undergraduate students who are invested in cancer research.

For the first time, a Warren G. Harding Symposium Award of a $1000 scholarship will be presented to an ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Marion student who submits an original essay of 1000 words or less based upon the theme of the annual Warren G. Harding Symposium. The winner will be selected by a committee composed of ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Marion faculty and staff based on following criteria: Theme Topic Adherence, Creativity, Insights and Perspectives, and Composition.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ is celebrating its summer 2020 graduates with a special 30-minute video recognizing some of the achievements of the class. The university will award 1,763 degrees and certificates to the graduating class in a virtual ceremony that begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9.

Each summer is an opportunity to polish, improve and build new STEMcoding content that mixes computer science with traditional science and math learning objectives. With instructors facing extraordinary circumstances this fall with distance learning and hybrid learning due to covid19, we put in extra time to deliver new features to help students work from home and potentially without close proximity to a teacher or instructor.

In his sabbatical year, ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Marion Professor of Statistics, Omer Ozturk spent September 2019 through April 2020 conducting agricultural statistical research with a team of scientists at the Biometry Hub from The University of Adelaide, School of Agriculture, Food and Wine in Australia.

A group of student participants in ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Marion’s Pride and Life Skills mentoring program (PALS) have extended their online mentoring through the summer months because of the impact on, not only the young mentees in the program, but the personal and professional growth the college students have experienced as part of the program.
